Sir William Boulton, 1st Baronet

Sir William Whytehead Boulton, 1st Baronet DL (10 January 1873 – 9 January 1949) was a British soldier and Conservative Party politician.

The son of William Whytehead Boulton and Mary Hudleston Gibson, he served in the Royal Horse Guards and in 7th Volunteer Battalion, Essex Regiment, reaching the rank of Major. Between 1931 and 1945, he was Member of Parliament (MP) for Sheffield Central. Boulton was Deputy Lieutenant and Lord Commissioner of Trade from 1940 to 1942. Having been also a Government Whip as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household from 1940 to 1944, he was made a Baronet, of Braxted Park in the County of Essex on 30 June 1944.

Family

On 23 April 1903, he married Rosalind Mary Milburn, daughter of Sir John Davidson Milburn, 1st Baronet. They had four children:

*Ralph Milburn Gibson Boulton (1909–1916)
* Sir William Whytehead Boulton, 3rd Baronet (b. 1912)
* Christopher Carmichael Boulton (1919–1994)
