Firdaus or فردوس (Arabic) is an Arabic name come from words firdaws, a name for the highest paradise during hereafter. It's a loanword from middle Persian just like paradise which has Persian root.

This name belonged to Persian poet and historian, Firdausi and he lived around eleventh century.

Usually refer to masculine gender but sometimes also refer to feminine name.

As a name, it is used by Arab, Iranian, Indonesian, Malaysian people. Also there is a city in Iran with this name but it is mostly written as Ferdows or Ferdos.
