Shogakukan in 11 full volumes after initially appearing in the weeklyShonen Sunday Magazine on October 1988. From July 1991 to April 1996, Shogakukan Productions Co., Ltd. was responsible for publishing the Spriggan manga into 11 volumes.:In 2001,
Shogakukan has done a reprint of the Spriggan series in a collector's edition for 8 volumes. Included in the 1st volume is a lost story that neitherHiroshi Takashige norRyoji Minagawa were able to publish. The lost story was called First Mission. In the 8th volume, a special story called Gold Rush was published, detailing Yu's life after he graduated from high school.:
