PostPost Records

PostPost Records is a record label based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Breaking away from the "bait, stock, slaughter, beg" method of most independent record labels, PostPost Records or "Po-Po-Ree," as its sometimes referred to in Brooklyn, has an understanding with the bands it signs that most of their music will be given away free. Early innovators of the now-chic "lie-down-and-die" distribution model, albums are usually made to order or have very short runs with inconsistent cover design. Their bands are incestuous and rarely play out live.

"We're a very self destructive record label," said J. Malone co-founder of PostPost Records, who was quoted in a 2006 Creight Review review. "Yeah, it's more of a pre-failed art project," added his counterpart, Tom "T" Bramdail. PostPost Records are mostly know for their minimalist and intellectual rock aesthetic.

Bands currently represented on PostPost Records are Bumblebee, New Darlings, Sea Cobra, Rabbid Rabit and Prep and the Position.
