Addlestone ,Surrey . The school holds SpecialistArts College status andInternational School status.History
It was formerly called "St Paul's Secondary Modern" and later "Abbeylands" ("Scabbylands" to local residents, then a school with "Serious weaknesses"). Pushed by S.C.C. into a "suspicious" P.P.P. deal to "outsource" its management to Nord Anglia, millions of pounds were pumped into the fabric of the school.
The previous headmaster and teaching staff were blamed for the school's poor performance. Although still below the national average, GCSE results have been steadily improving, rising from 11% in 2006, to 22% in 2007 and 48% in 2008. A number of students even managed to achieve multiple A* grades which was reported upon in local papers. "Having considered all the evidence I am of the opinion that at this time the school is making inadequate progress in addressing the issues for improvement and in raisingstudents’ achievement." Asyia Kazmi, Her Majesty’s Inspector (March, 2008).
Headmaster is Mr Gareth Balch.
