Lawrence Mullan is a former footballer who played for Coolagh Celtic, Glentoran F.C. and Lisahally F.C. and brother of Gerry Mullan.

Career

Player

Lawrence was born in Limavady and played locally for Coolagh Celtic alongside side his brothers. It was at Coolagh that Lawrence and his brother Gerry caught the eyes of numerous scouts from illustrious English football clubs, including Everton F.C. and also top Northern Irish clubs, for example, Glentoran F.C.. Lawrence was promptly snapped up by Glentoran, yet only spent two seasons there, playing a mere 10 first team games. Lawrence then moved to Strathfoyle and joined Lisahally F.C. Lawrence is fondly remembered by Lisahally fans as Patrick Swayze due to his uncanny resemblance to the actor. Lawrence's son, Conor, is also a footballer.

Manager

Lawrence also managed youth football teams for a brief period, steering a young Lisahally side to the finals of numerous summer cups. He was, at one stage, the favourite to take over at Lisahally F.C. but he decided against going into management.
