Voronezh Oblast ,Russia . Geographical location coord|51|23|N|39|03|E|. It is known for high concentration of cultural remains ofmodern humans from beginning ofUpper Paleolithic era.A layer of
Campanian volcanic ash from about 40,000 years ago (or 38,000 BCE) has been found above some of the finds, showing thatmodern man inhabited the site before this.According to
John F. Hoffecker (BBC "Science in Action ", 12 Jan. 2007),sewing needle s were found just above the ash layer.References
