Faith magic

Faith magic

Faith magick is that type of magic whose effect is to bring about the desired effect through the application of faith. It is closely related to thelemic magick in that in a sense the application of the will is required.

History

The history behind this type of magic goes back to the writings of Jesus who in Mark 11:23 stated that "Truly I say to you that whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says happens, he will have it."

Theory

The theory behind faith magick is that if you believe in something strong enough then it will happen. It is deeply allied with the belief in the power of suggestion. For example what keeps a human being from flying. Is it the fact that he has no wings or is it the fact that he has been programmed from birth to believe it is not possible. What makes a human being develop into a man or a woman. Is it the fact that millions of years of evolution state it as the ordinary course. Faith magick is all about believing something will happen enough. Anything that happens to you therefore, is a matter of belief.
