Huang competed for China in
badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in women's doubles with partnerGao Ling . They had a bye in the first round and defeatedChin Eei Hui andWong Pei Tty ofMalaysia in the second. In the quarterfinals, Huang and Gao beatAnn-Lou Jørgensen andRikke Olsen ofDenmark 15-6, 15-7. They won the semifinal againstZhao Tingting andWei Yili of China 15-10, 17-14 but lost the final toZhang Jiewen and Yang Wei, also of China, 7-15, 15-4, 15-8 to win thesilver medal .
