2006 has been a quiet year for InTouch and Schmitt. Besides "The Forgotten" his only other work that year was performed in
San Diego at the North Park Vaudeville Candy Shoppe. His play "Same Mistake Twice".In 2007, there are already signs of rumbling. His play "Same Mistake Twice" is bringing back the talents of Poklemba, Jane Bacon, and David Holt to The Riant Theatre's Festival once more. This time it is performed at
The American Theatre of Actors inManhattan .As of 2008, it appears Jesse Schmitt has come upon some hard times. The opportunities are no longer abundant or lucrative in the dwindling economy which is affecting productions and ticket sales. Some fellow playwrights have since noted that Jesse Schmitt has been spotted working at a small hotel in the lower east side of Manhattan. Jesse Schmitt has been quoted that he remains hopeful despite the lack of interest in his work.
