Renmore

Renmore is a suburb of Galway City, Ireland, situated approximately 2 km to the east of the city. St Oliver Plunkett Church is located beside the primary school. Lough Atalia lies between Renmore and the city, which can be crossed using the path beside the railway line (nicknamed the line among locals). The primary school in Renmore is called Scoil Chaitriona the area also has an all Irish school named Gael Scoil Dara. Its current president is Rory Sweeney.

Renmore is one of the largest suburbs of Galway city spreading from the shore of Lough Atalia on it's west side to Lurgan Park on it's east. The area houses approximately 5,000 people and is home to Ballyloughaun beach which also has a campsite. Dawn Dairies on the Dublin Road is an employer in the area, and the 1st Infantry Battalion, Galway's only Army base, is housed in Renmore Barracks at the end of the Renmore Road. The Department of Defence is also based in the area.
