P Janardhan Reddy (also known as PJR) (January 12, 1948 – December 28, 2007), was a politician and labour leader who had served as MLA five times for the Hyderabad constituency of Khairtabad. He was MLA for the constituency in 1978, 1985, 1989, 1994, and 2004 until his death.

Education

He attained a Polytechnic Diploma.

Entry into politics

Starting his career as a trade union leader in 1967, PJR was first elected to the assembly in 1978. He was Labour Minister in the ministry headed by his mentor T Anjaiah in 1980. He had been a known loyalist of Gandhi family (Indira, Sanjay, Rajiv, and Sonia).

He was suspended from the party on several occasions by running a 'dissident campaign' against the state Congress leadership or chief ministers.Fact|date=July 2008

Death

PJR suffered a heart attack on December 28, 2007, while on his way to a party meeting. He was rushed to hospital but died on the way. On the day he passed away all the shops were closed.

After his death, his son P Vishnuvardhan Reddy was elected to the MLA position.
