John Andrew "Rocky" Roe (born
August 16 1950 inDetroit, Michigan ) is a former umpire inMajor League Baseball who worked in theAmerican League from 1979 to 1999 and in both leagues in 2000 and 2001. He officiated in the 1990 and1999 World Series , as well as the 1984 and 1994 All-Star Games. He also worked threeAmerican League Championship Series (1986, 1991, 1996) and fourDivision Series (1995, 1997, 1999, 2000); he was a crew chief for the 1999 ALDS. Roe wore uniform number 27 throughout his career.Roe grew up in
