"Walking in the Air" is the first album of Hayley Westenra. This album had two versions. The first was originally just a memento for her family and close friends and named Hayley Dee Westenra. However, this album did not just stay in the family; one day while Hayley was busking, a tourist asked her if they had ever thought of recording her voice. Hayley pointed the tourist in the direction of the mother who after some coaxing, sold them a copy. As that tourist took the CD over to Hayley to have her autograph it, the other tourists asked her mother if she had any more copies. Hayley's mother took their names and hotel rooms and later that day Hayley's family delivered copies to those tourists. A second larger batch of the CDs was then made and the album was retitled. There were only about 1000 copies made of this album. For information about the Album's title song see Walking in the Air.
