The Defence Analytical Services Agency (DASA). It lost its Agency status on 1 April 2008 [http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200708/cmhansrd/cm080401/wmstext/80401m0001.htm#column_37WS] , becoming an administrative unit within the MOD, known as Defence Analytical Services and Advice and retaining the acronym DASA.
DASA compiles staffing, financial and logistical statistics and provides a planning and forecasting service to the British Armed Services. It also provides a statistical service to Ministers and senior officials from the MoD. Its current Director General (formerly Chief Executive) is Dr Mike McDowall, BSc, PhD.
