Next = Max"Tempus Fugit" is the seventeenth episode of the fourth season of television series "The X-Files". While celebrating Scully's birthday, Mulder learns of Max Fenig's death in a plane crash. What the agents soon discover is that the circumstances surrounding the crash may have been alien. This episode won a Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Award for "Best Sound Editing - Television Episodic - Effects & Foley" in 1998. Trivia

*"Max Fenig is an anagram, when the letters are changed, XF Enigma is the result.

*When Mulder makes a sharp U-turn on the runway about three-quarters of the way through the episode, you can see Scully smiling inside the car.

*On The Season Four DVD, If the English subtitles are activated, the theme to the X-Files beginning credits have "Happy Birthday Dear Dana" Playing throughout.

*The beginning of the show depicts a celebration birthday dinner for Scully. The episode, aired in March, is inconsistent with the show's history, since Scully's birthday is in February. However, the time within the show may have been different than real life. Although, this prompts new questions, especially as to why Upstate New York is not snowy.
