Winterlake lodge

Winterlake Lodge is the fourth checkpoint along the National Historic Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Alaska, located at mile 198It is owned by Carl and Kirsten Dixon. Winterlake is a small boutique wilderness lodge offering dog mushing excursions in the wintertime and helicopter fishing and wildlife viewing in the summer. Owners Carl and Kirsten Dixon are long-time Alaskans. Kirsten Dixon has written several cookbooks including The Winterlake Lodge Cookbook (which won the Gourmand International Cookbook award).
