Among the many tanks displaying the diversity of the Gulf of Mexico, the Texas State Aquarium showcases two large exhibits representing an off-shore rig and the Flower Gardens. Texas State Aquarium has 4
dolphins : Shadow, Cobie, DJ and Kai. Shadow and Cobie came from theNational Aquarium in Baltimore , while Kai and DJ came fromBrookfield Zoo . Accessed October 1, 2007.] ]The newest addition to the Aquarium was the Hawn Wild Flight Theater, which honors the Hawn family for their long-standing commitment to the Aquarium's mission of wildlife education and conservation in South Texas. The theater was opened April 24, 2007.
The outside Sea Turtle exhibit, Turtle Cove, has been remodeled and is now known as Tortuga Cay.
There are plans for a total remodeling of the outdoor Texas Trails exhibits.
