JBIET

J.B. Institute of Engineering and Technology, built on a land of 27.5 acres, this college is situated at Amdapur X Roads, RR District around 22 km from Hyderabad.It is permanently affiliated to JNTU- Jawaharlal Nehru Technological university and is Accredited by NBA . This college is one of the premier institutes of undergraduate ( engineering) and post graduate education (Mtech, MBA & MCA) in and around Hyderabad.

Education

The college provides undergraduate courses in

*Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE)

The students are placed in some of the reputed software companies like Infosys, TCS, CTS, IBM, Syntel and Wipro. The college also has campus placements by other companies like Satyam, Brigade Corporation, Intelligroup etc.

A JBIETian, Kalyan, currently pursuing 1st year in ECE, has secured 2nd place in the national science and maths Olympiad, conducted by National Board of Education. He was awarded a cash cheque of 10,000 Rupees, along with a gold plated shield.

There are many bright and studious students in JBIET, as this is one of the premier institutes offering engineering (under-graduate and post-graduate courses in Hyderabad , India.

Transport

The college has a vast number of college buses providing bus facility for students from every corner of Hyderabad . This college is situated on a state highway well connected to the city by RTC buses (288 A, 288P, 288 S, 444 , 288 M , 288 X).

Extra Curricular

The college hosts a yearly fest/annual day called 'INXS' mostly during the months of April or March. It is usually a one day festival/programme.

The college also organises a yearly National level technical fest called the INFOQUEST which is held during the months of February/March. It is organised under the banner of IEEE. The main motto of this event is to increase the technical skills and improve communication skills of the students. Students from all over India participate in this event. This event has Technical Paper Presentations, Working Model Presentations, Software Contest and Technical Quizzes.

The Working Model Contest and Software Contest are real tough and good Quality models will be final winners.

IEEE Student Branch @ JBIET is considered as one of the most active and biggest in Hyderabad with over 150 student members enrolled under IEEE JBIET.

The college also has monthly news letter - "We Say" . It was started by guidance of Dr. Jayanth J. Kulkarni (Assoc. Prof/S&H -Physics).The initial team included Akhil Koo (Hon. Editor), Ronak Daya, Rajkiran BandhaKavi, Phani Kiran Joshyula & Others as Editors. "We Say" covers the main news topics of every month besides having articles from students. Usually "We Say" Editors do not reveal their names and try to remain anonymous.

Besides the monthly news letter, the college has annual magazine "Spoorthi" - which was named by Dr S S Prabhakara Rao (Prof & Head / S & H - English) later on which was headed by Dr. (Mrs.)B Bapiraju (HOD/ S&H - Physics), Dr Jayanth Kulkarni. This contains complete statistics about the college, messages from dignitaries like Governor on occasion of Inxs and articles from students and faculty. Articles are usually written in English, Hindi and Telugu.
