Felice Schachter (b.
November 17 1963 ,Queens ,New York ) is anJewish -American actress who is best known for her role as Nancy on the hitsitcom "The Facts of Life " for its first season, appearing sporadically afterwards.Early career
Schachter's mother, the founder of Suzelle Enterprises, helped Felice get her start by having her model as early as the age of four months. Felice did commercials for
Ivory Snow ,Pampers ,Downy ,Baby Alive , andJordache Jeans. She also studied to be a ballet dancer, starting as early as three years old. She went on to study at the George Balachine School of Ballet, aged 8. Later she joined theNew York City Ballet company, most notably performing in theNutcracker Suite . She also had performed in bothSleeping Beauty andThe Taming of the Shrew .Theater and television
Felice started her showbusiness career in
1977 , appearing in two off-Broadway plays called "The Innocents ", and "Time Again ".She was picked as the first girl selected in what would be known as her most notable role, as Nancy in "
The Facts of Life ". She played the role regularly until1980 , when she was the first member of the cast to be let go. She would continue to make guest appearances on the show until 1986. Other television roles included "Diff'rent Strokes ", the soap opera "Love of Life ", "NBC Quiz Kids ","The Adams Chronicles ","Alice", "The New Monkees " and "Love, American Style " among others.Schachter also did sports broadcasting for

In 1981 Felice Schachter was cast in the role of Bernadette in the 1982 movie "
Zapped! " and starred oppositeScott Baio . She would move on to film production, working in such roles as being an Assistant Director and Production Assistant, making Infomercials, Commercials and Corporate Films.She has worked on such film and television projects as "Magic Island", "After The Game" the pilot for "
JAG ", "Uncle Sam", "Twilight of the Golds", "High Tide", "Born Free", "The Citizen", "Waiting For The Monkeys", "The Citizen ", "Waste Land", "Jackie", "Knockaround Guys " and "30 Years to Life ". Felice Schachter obtained a B.A. in Semiotics at Brown University in 1985. She has in the past lived in

September 11 attacks , Schachter volunteered at the Chelsea Piers Volunteer Center as a Transportation Coordinator. Her responsibilities involved getting supplies to ground zero, picking up donated items, giving rides home to fireman, search & rescue workers, etc. Felice also had the opportunity to visit ground zero while working there.Felice Schachter has since put together a benefit for "Families Of Freedom" scholarship fund, fact|date=December 2007 raising over $250,000 for educational scholarships for children who lost a parent as a result of the attack on the
World Trade Center .
