Florida ) has served asFirst Lady ofIdaho since 2007. She is a formerbeauty queen who is married to currentGovernor of Idaho C. L. "Butch" Otter.Otter moved to Idaho as a child and graduated from Kimberly High School. She received a teaching degree from
Boise State University and a master's degree in education, Curriculum and Instruction, & Education Administration fromNorthwest Nazarene University .Otter taught K-12 physical education, English and health. She coached girls
basketball andvolleyball at the junior high and high school levels for 13 years, in the Meridian School District in Meridian, Idaho.Otter won the
Miss Idaho USA title in 1991 and represented Idaho in theMiss USA 1991 pageant broadcast live fromWichita, Kansas in February 1991. The pageant was won byKelli McCarty of Kansas.During her year as Miss Idaho USA, Otter met Butch Otter, then serving as
Lieutenant Governor of Idaho . He divorced his former wife Gaye Simplot, daughter of potato magnateJ.R. Simplot , in 1992. She returned to Idaho in 1995 after teaching and coaching in Arizona. Soon she and Otter began dating. Otter petitioned theRoman Catholic Church to annul his first marriage in 2006. After dating for years, the two married inMeridian, Idaho onAugust 18 ,2006 . In November 2006, Butch Otter was electedGovernor of Idaho , and Lori Easley Otter became First Lady of Idaho when Governor Otter took office two months later.Otter's older brother,
Logan Easley , was a standoutbaseball player for theCollege of Southern Idaho in the mid-1980s and later a member of thePittsburgh Pirates .Otter currently resides in Star.
