Peshawar Flying Club

Peshawar Flying Club

The Peshawar Flying club is situated in Peshawar, the capital city of the North West Frontier Province (N.W.F.P) in Pakistan. Peshawar has also served as the Northern Air Command of the Pakistani Air Force (PAF). The club carries out training for Private and commercial aviation and is home to the Flight Instructor Training School (FITS). Charter flights are also carried out by the club.

The club shares the runway with the Peshawar Airport's Domestic and international flights along with the PAF's Black Spider squadron of Chinese made A-5s.

The inventory of airplanes used for training as well as charter is made up of,

*One Cessna 172 registration AP-BAP
*Three Cessna 150 registration AP-AZT and AP-BAC and AP-AUC,
*One Cessna 421 for Charter and multi engine rating,
*One Taifun glider,
*One Piper PA-23 Aztec.

By any standards the club has a very small strength of airplanes. However it has maintained a very high level of training standards and aptitude. Students are exposed to both physical and mental extremes to prepare them for this field. Aspiring pilots from all over the globe including countries from the Middle East and North Africa come to the club to receive their wings. Typically most senior instructors at the club have been ex-PAF pilots (CAPTAIN MUHAMMAH J.AKBAR) and ground crew which is one of the reasons why the commercial flight school maintains a high level of competence in its training of the recruits both on the ground and in the air. Trained Pilots from the Peshawar Flying Club are of high qualityand are polished to be the best in their field.

Cross country flights can be as far as Karachi which is the farthest you can fly in a stretch within the country. The area is very scenic and provides excellent flying conditions. Peshawar is a just south of the Himalayan range and to the North there is nothing but a collection of peaks ranging between 500 ft to 25000 ft.
