Wakatipu Aero Club

Wakatipu Aero Club is a general aviation flying club and flight training organisation owned by its members. It is located at Queenstown Airport in Otago, New Zealand.

The Wakatipu Aero Club trains private and commercial pilots ab initio and also at advanced levels, especially in mountain flying - the club's speciality.

The club owns Air Wakatipu which operates scenic and charter flights and which serves as a first step of employment for some of its recently qualified commercial pilots each year.

Several aircraft are kept on line available for charter and rental. These include, as of May 2007, a Citabria 7GCBC, a Tecnam P2002-JF, three Cessna 172s, and a Cessna 206. The club has an active committee and two full time flying instructors.
