1979–1980 United States network television schedule (weekday)

These are the daytime Monday-Friday schedules on all three networks for each calendar season beginning September 1979. All times are Eastern and Pacific.

Talk shows are highlited in yellow, local programming is white, reruns of prime-time programming are orange, game shows are pink, soap operas are chartreuse, news programs are gold and all others are light blue. New series are highlighted in bold.

Fall 1979

NOTE: "The Young and the Restless" expands from 30 minutes to 1 hour on February 4. The 12:00 PM time slot is rescinded to affiliates in exchange for 1:00 PM.

ummer 1980

NOTES: "Another World" reduces from 1 1/2 Hours to 1 hour on August 4. "The David Letterman Show" was the 1 1/2 Hour show from June 23 to August 1, when it was reduced to 1 hour.
