Alain Pilon

Alain Pilon (born March 20, 1960 in Montreal, Quebec) [http://www.info07.com/article-156635-Alain-Pilon-et-son-lobby-du-bonheur.html] is a Quebec politician and businessman in Gatineau, Quebec. He is the councillor of the Val-Tetreau District in the Hull sector.

A graduate in geography from the Université de Montréal, Pilon was a candidate in the ward in the 2005 municipal elections which was left vacant when Lawrence Cannon ran successfully for the federal riding of Pontiac in the 2006 federal elections. Pilon faced former ADQ candidate Jean-François Larue. He narrowly defeated Larue in which a recount was required to make his win official. He currently occupies committee positions in sports and leisure.

During the fall of 2006, Pilon supported a controversial large scale project in the Manoir des Trembles neighborhood which drew criticism by locals towards the administration and Pilon. The project consists of a long seven-storey seniors complex that will be built near the area of Boulevard Saint-Raymond and Boulevard de l'Outaouais. Residents mentionned that the quality of life and view will be affected and that trees would be demolished to make way for the building. The project went ahead as planned and is slated for completion in 2008.

In addition of his role as councillor, he is also the publics affairs vice-president of Hill & Knowlton, which is specialized in communications and public relations. Pilon is married and has two children and has been heavily involved in several events and projects done across the growing community of Le Plateau.
