As the head of Swiss-based Crown Resources from the mid-1990s, Kuzmichev handled raw materials exports for
Alfa Group . But in November 2002, theoil tanker Prestige, chartered by Crown Resources, broke up in a storm off the Spanish coast, spewing some 20,000 tons of fuel oil into the ocean. Alfa Group immediately unloaded Crown Resources. Kuzmichev now heads up a venture fund called Russian Technologies, which specializes in research and development in the fields of nanotechnology and biotechnology.Kuzmichev is a resident of
