J.Anand is from
Coimbatore .He is the son of noted Indian Automobile and Engine Designer B.Jayachandran and grandson of S.Balasundaram,the founder of Textool Company in Coimbatore.Motor racing
His racing career started when he entered
Sholavaram in mid-80's as a racing prodigy with his race tunedMaruti 800 .Later won several races inFormula Maruti class.Also at this time he joinedS.Karivardhan 's Team Super Speeds but later left to TeamMRF where he quickly became the number One. He is best known for winning severalFormula 3 races and championships inSholavaram and Irrugattukottai tracks for Team MRF.He also took part in the famous Karnataka 1000 Rally in 80's with their own in-house designed Mayura c Sedan Car fitted again with their own 16Valve DOHC Engine gasoline engine.His Company
Now he runs the
rallying team forTeam MRF fromCoimbatore and is the Managing Director of Jayem Automotives Ltd. an R&D company for TATA Motors Ltd. He is also a well know constructor and his latest being theTata engined Formula India Mayura and theTata Indica Silhouette which was chosen as the concept car of the year 2006.Recent Activities
