Streetly

Streetly

Streetly is an area in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, England. It is adjacent to Aldridge, Little Aston and Four Oaks. Administratively, Streetly was in Aldridge-Brownhills Urban District until 1974, when that district was subsumed into Walsall. Streetly is a relatively affluent area compared to the rest of the Walsall borough, in contrast to areas such as Blakenall Heath and Harden.

Geographically, however, it is separated from the rest of the Borough by Barr Beacon, and therefore has stronger ties with Sutton Coldfield, reflected by Streetly falling within Sutton Coldfield Post Town. The telephone area code of Streetly is also associated with the Birmingham '0121' number as opposed to the '01922' number of Walsall, hence making the association with Sutton Coldfield even stronger.

Lying roughly 20 minutes drive from Birmingham city centre, 15 minutes from Walsall and 15 minutes from Sutton Coldfield town centre, Streetly is very close to several good shopping areas.

Britain's Got Talent finalist Connie Talbot lives in Streetly. She was in the 2007 final, but lost to winner Paul Potts from Port Talbot in Wales.
