Raymond Forni (May 20, 1941 – January 5, 2008) was a French Socialist politician.

Biography

Son of an Italian immigrant, Raymond Forni was born in Belfort, in 1941. His father died when he had 11. At 17, he had to stop studiing, and started working as an unskilled worker, in Peugeot factories. Finally, he was gratuated at 21 and started a law studies, in Strasbourg. He became lawyer at 27 year old.

His political career grown from 1971, when he became municipal council, to this election as deputy of Territoire de Belfort "département" until 2002, he was chairman of the National Assembly from 2000 to 2002. He was chairman of Franche-Comté regional council since 2004.
