Louis Isaac Jaffe

Louis Isaac Jaffe (born 1888?; died 1950) was an editor of the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot from 1919 to 1950 [ [http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/durh/cem258.htm Hebrew Cemetery] ] . He won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing in 1929 for "An Unspeakable Act of Savagery", which condemned lynching [ [http://www.pulitzer.org/cyear/1929w.html Pulitzer site] ]

A biography of him, titled "Editor for Justice: The Life of Louis I. Jaffe" by Alexander S. Leidholdt, was written in 2002
