Roger Greenawalt (born
February 13 ,1960 inWashington, DC ) is an Americanmusic producer known for discovering singer "Ben Kweller ". A high-profile account featuring Greenawalt's efforts to get Kweller signed to a major label appeared in a New Yorker profile onApril 7 ,1997 .A fixture in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn music scene for the past ten years, Greenwalt's Shabby Road studios recently produced
The Pierces , highly-regarded "13 Tales Of Love And Revenge' reviewed favorably in magazines such as Rolling Stone, Spin and Blender.Greenawalt studied at
Berklee School of Music in Boston in the early 1980s. His new-wave "death disco" band The Dark gained a loyal following and drew the interest of local musician "Ric Ocasek " who produced their first EP in 1982.Since relocating to New York, in the early 1990s, Greenawalt has produced a wide variety of musicians. He has also performed on records made by "
Nils Lofgren ", "Ric Ocasek ", "Rufus Wainwright " and others.Greenawalt currently owns and operates Shabby Road studios. Recent productions include new recordings by "The Pierces," "
