Burbank Oval

Burbank Oval

Burbank Oval, formerly know as the Morris St. Oval, is located at Morris Street, Williamstown, Victoria. It backs onto Port Phillip Bay, and is next to the Esplanade.

Burbank Oval is the home of the Williamstown Seagulls, a team in the VFL (Victorian Football League). This is a feeder league to the AFL (Australian Football League).

Cricket is also known to have been played there, and the oval has hosted a few junior football league Grand Finals, the most recent springing to mind the Under 14D's WRFL Grand Final played between Spotswood Football Club and St. Bernards Football Club. St. Bernards were the eventual winners.

In 2007, the ground will be unavailable for the VFL draw, as there are redevelopments taking place.

Football

Football (Aussie Rules) is played regularly at Burbank Oval during the VFL season. It is the home ground of the Williamstown Seagulls, the 2003 champions of the VFL. Junior AFL matches have been played there and the ground can seat about 10,000 people. There are tennis courts adjacent.

Cricket

Cricket is played at the Burbank Oval, by teams contesting in the VSDCA league. Williamstown is again the home team, hosting games on an excellent ground for cricket.
