Evergreen International

Since August 1993, Richman has served as the CEO and Chairman of the Board of the non-profit Evergreen International, Inc. Evergreen fosters the concept that people who don’t want to be gay can control their behavior and live according to the teachings of the Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).

Evergreen provides education, guidance, and support to individuals who want to diminish same-gender attraction (also known as same-sex attraction or homosexuality) and overcome homosexual behavior. It is also a resource to family, friends, professional counselors, and religious leaders.

During Dr. Richman’s tenure, the Church began to address homosexuality in a more open way. There have been numerous articles on the topic in the Church’s Ensign magazine and leaders have addressed the topic in their biannual general conferences. Apostle Dallin H. Oaks and Elder Lance Wickman recently addressed the topic at length, touching on topics never previously discussed by Church leaders.
