secondary school located in the village ofDalston, Cumbria , England. In the academic year of 2006/07, it had roughly 1000 pupils. Caldew School is a business and enterprise school and its target is to enable all pupils to learn to their full potential in a caring environment. Its emblem is a cockerel, the same as the village of Dalston, where it takes its motto from, 'Whilst I live, I crow'.Ofsted once inspected Caldew School and deduced: "A warm, caring, friendly and safe school". Caldew currently holds a jointSixth Form with Morton School which is located inside Carlisle.Groups
The school is regularly used by Young Farmer Groups and has its own detachment of Army Cadets. The sporting facilities are very well used by numerous community groups and includes Carlisle United Football Club.
Carlisle Youth Radio
For two days in November 2007 Caldew School hosted the Carlisle Youth Radio scheme, entertaining the celebrity personality, Robbie Dee.
