Maggie Gavin

Maggie Gavin Garrity (born Peggy Sue Gavin) is a character on the FX drama Rescue Me. The character is played by Tatum O'Neal.

Tommy's younger sister, who recently came back around after she found out that their father was supposed to inherit money from his recently deceased wife. She is resented by her father for as of yet unrevealed reasons, is a heavy smoker and drinker, and is considered to be evil incarnate by Tommy and the rest of her family (a charge Maggie makes no attempt to deny and revels in). She began relationship with Sean Garrity, a member of Tommy's fire crew, but secretly dated four other men behind Sean's back. When Sean found out and confronted her about it, his assertiveness led to her dropping her other lovers for Sean. The two became engaged, though it fell apart when Sean realized that he could not physically handle being married to someone as openly vile as Maggie, a move that caused Maggie to finally break down into tears. Maggie and Sean get back together during Johnny's funeral, and pays the priest $500 to marry them in the cemetery. Later throughout the fourth season, she divorces Sean. Throughout the rest of the series, Maggie started going to AA meetings and made a great run out of quitting drinking. At the series finale, Maggie attends Lou's funeral and made a passionate speech about Lou saying that no matter what, Lou always treated her with kindness.

Maggie appears to be addicted to pornography.

Maggie becomes a recurring character throughout the series.
