- Ray L. Reagan
Ray Lawrence Reagan (born
August 23 ,1921 ; diedMarch 24 ,1978 ) was theSevier County, Tennessee Judge from 1958 until his death in 1978.Reagan was born, raised and lived his entire life in
Dupont, Tennessee . He spearheaded attraction of new industry to broaden the agricultural and tourist-oriented economy of the county. During his tenure, the Sevier County Industrial Park (Ray L. Reagan Industrial Park), Sevier County Medical Center and thePigeon Forge, Tennessee -Gatlinburg, Tennessee Airport were constructed. Judge Reagan served on several state commissions and advisory boards on county government. His accomplishments are further recognized by the Highway 66 bridge over theFrench Broad River being named in memory of him.
