In 19th century this street was named "Lavalev Street" ( _ru. у́лица Лава́лева), then "Zadny Pereulok" ( _ru. За́дний переу́лок), "Glukhoy Pereulok" ( _ru. Глухо́й переу́лок), and finally "Vyazemsky Pereulok", after the landowners, the Vyazemskys family. It was renamed to "Belgorodskaya Street" ( _ru. Белгоро́дская у́лица) on
15 December ,1952 , but in one year (on4 January ,1954 ) the original name was returned.treet
The street is approximately 500 meters long. Although it is named as side street, it is wider (30 m) than main avenues of Petrogradsky Distinct:
Kamennoostrovsky Prospect and Big Prospect (both approximately 20 meters).There are several
apartment building s, the 32th polyclinic (house number 3), the dormitory and the Humanitarian Faculty ofSaint Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (number 5-7), and Vyazemsky Garden.References
