Sint Anna ter Muiden is a small city about 1 km west of
Sluis , in the municipality of the same name. It is located on the westernmost point of theNetherlands , in the province ofZeeland . It has a population of 50 (as of2001 ), which makes it the second smallest official city in the Netherlands (afterStaverden , which has city rights, but never developed into a proper city).Sint Anna ter Muiden was granted city rights in
1242 by the counts of Flanders,Thomas II of Savoy andJeanne of Flanders .Sint Anna ter Muiden was a separate municipality until 1880, when it was merged with
