Lewis and Clark Community College is located in Godfrey, Illinois, a town in unincorporated Madison County, Illinois, part of the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Lewis and Clark Community College is located on the grounds of the old Monticello College. Monticello, a women's "finishing" school was established in 1838 and many of the original buildings are still standing. Additions of a two court gymnasium and math and science buildings have been made with additional buildings to be added. The last class for Monticello graduated in 1971 and the first co-ed class for LCCC started in 1970.
