Tranque Puclaro is an artificial lake created by a dam on the Elqui River, 60 km east of the city of La Serena. Regular strong winds make the lake a popular place for kitesurfing [ [http://www.surfspot.de/surfspots/chile/puclaro.html surfspot.de: Spotinfos Puclaro (Chile)] ] .
