Francis Brooks (Bishop)

Francis Brooks (born 14 January, 1924 is the Roman Catholic Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Dromore, Ireland [ [http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/bishop/bbrooks.html Ordination of Bishop Brooks] ] . He was born in Rathfriland, County Down, Northern Ireland. He was ordained a priest on 19 June, 1949 for the Diocese of Dromore and was appointed bishop of the diocese on 20 November, 1975. He was ordained a bishop on 25 January, 1976 and retired on 4 June, 1999. The Principal Consecrator was William Cardinal Conway; his Principal Co-Consecrators were the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Alibrandi and Bishop Eugene O’Doherty the retiring bishop of the diocese.
