Ellen Fein is an author, best known for co-writing The Rules: Time-Tested Secrets for Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right, a best-selling 1995 book. The book was co-authored by Sherrie Schneider.

Fein remarried on July 27, 2008. The New York Times, in an article about her relationship with new husband Lance Houpt, said that Fein, then 50, "did not look old."
