Rodney Morison III, was born in
Mount Vernon, Ohio on (Jan 11, 1918). Having been an award-winning math and physics scholar in high school, he went on to attend and graduate fromKenyon College in 1939.Mr. Morison joined the U.S. Navy in (year?) at the start of
World War II , where he was instrumental in the development of theProximity fuze , or Radio Proximity Fuze.In his professional career, he was responsible for several patented scientific devices in the aerospace industry, notably the acoustic oxygen sensor, used in
