- Invercargill (New Zealand electorate)
The Invercargill electorate is a seat in the Parliament of New Zealand, representing Invercargill city and the surrounding rural area.
History
The seat was established in 1866 when it separated from the Wallace Electorate.
In 1996 a boundary redistribution resulted in the abolition of the Awarua seat and merged in to the Invercargill electorate following re-drawing of boundaries due to the introduction of Mixed Member Proportional voting (MMP).
