Tiraspol Times is an English language news provider focused on Transnistria. It was founded in 2006. It publishes an online newspaper, a free news feed service, and, according to its own site, a print newspaper in tabloid format available at "select locations" in Transnistria, but not abroad and no subscription being available [http://www.tiraspoltimes.com/our_3_products_website_magazine_newspaper.html "Tiraspol Times": "Our three products"] ] as well as a weekly color magazine.

Online texts by the "Tiraspol Times" are licensed as freely distributable. Articles from it have been reprinted by UNPO [ [http://www.unpo.org/article.php?id=6071 Abkhazia: Abkhazia Signs Treaty with Pridnestrovie ] ] and by the United Nation's "Global Action on Aging," [ [http://www.globalaging.org/pension/world/2006/moldova.htm Moldova: Parliament Takes on Smirnov Over Pension Reform (October 10, 2006) ] ] as well as various news organizations.

"Tiraspol Times" has been criticised as being strongly biased in favour of the Transnistrian authorities and Transnistrian independence."Radio Free Europe", [http://www.rferl.org/featuresarticle/2006/09/794de55d-f342-4f9d-8f1a-534a6ea58b78.html "Moldova: In Cyberspace, Transdniester Doesn't Look That Bad"] , 15 September, 2006] A report in the "Economist" described it as part of a concerted online campaign to promote Transnistria through expertly produced websites, saying that its background and funding were largely undisclosed. A new law passed recently in Moldova has effectively prohibited the Tiraspol Times from publishing and staff were [http://www.netnewspublisher.com/journalistic-freedom-tiraspol-times-staff-weighing-options-after-moldovan-gag-law/ "weighing their options"] . However, publishing has since resumed, with a report on Transnistria's 18th independence day [Tiraspol Times, [http://www.tiraspoltimes.com/node/1841 "Independence Day 2008 marks 18 years of Pridnestrovie living on its own"] , 2 september, 2008] , among others.
