She was born ,brought up and did her schooling at
Muzaffarpur ,Bihar . After finishing high school she did her bachelors in science withPhysics as her major. She did her Masters inX-Ray ,Physics fromUniversity of Bihar .After getting married her education career came to a standstill for some time. Later she did B.Ed and then LLB fromNagpur ,Maharashtra ,India .During all these years she was an activewriter too. She wrote her firstpoem at an early age of 13. She has done freelancing for 3-4 years. Also did a research on the life of Adiwasi’s ofSinghbhum (the aborigines of India).She was married to Mritieunjay Kumar on Feb 20, 1977. Coincidently she and her husband share their birthdates. Her husband works for Railways and they spent lot of time traveling from one city to another.
