Líviusz Gyulai (born
December 2 ,1937 ) is a Hungarian graphic artist, printmaker, illustrator.Born at Barót,
Transylvania ,Romania , he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts ofBudapest as graphic artist in 1962. He is known as aprintmaker and a bookillustrator as well. He was awarded a Gold Medal at theFlorence Graphic Biennale in 1971. He has been makinganimated film s since 1975. He JoinedPannonia Film Studio in 1973. He has won several awards with his animations. Jónás was awarded in 1999 at theCannes Film Festival . Gyulai got theMunkácsy Prize in 1973 and for his life's work he got theKossuth Award in 2004.His animated films are: Delfinia 1976, New Tenants (Új lakók) 1977, Bad Eggs ( Jómadarak) (TV series) 1977, The Adventures of Tinti (Tinti kalandjai) (TV series) 1987-88, Jonah (Jónás) 1997, Spun (Golyós mese) 1999, Szinbád, Bon Voyage 2000, The Small Town of Mine (A mi kis városunk) 2002, Tears won’t stay dry (Könny nem marad szárazon) 2004.
