Bitcasting

Bitcasting

Bitcasting is a dot dash sequence logo with a term coined by David Kraft to indicate the dispersal of micro-messages. Often this concept is used to distribute a start of a pre-arranged event, perhaps at a sit-in or an underground rave.

Bitcasting is derived from Podcasting, only bitcasting is lightweight - usually three characters or less, and can even be distributed by something as simple as a laser pointer on a public monument or display.

History

The concept of bitcasting was suggested as early as 1990 and its technical components were existing before then.
