U.S. Route 701 is a spur of U.S. Route 1, although the two routes never intersect. It runs 172 miles (277 km) from Four Oaks, North Carolina at U.S. Route 301 to Georgetown, South Carolina at U.S. Route 17. It passes through the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. U.S. 701 Bypass routes are found in each of the following cities: Clinton, NC, Clarkton, NC, and Whiteville, NC.
