It is a relatively small school consisting of preschool through grade 12. Student life
There are a number of important aspects of student life at NCA which attempt to maintain a positive Christian environment for the students. The school incorporates the best practices of Classical and Christian education and offers a rigorous academic curriculum. NCA also has a well established championship winning athletic program that offers students a chance to enjoy all of the character-building benefits of being part of a competitive team. Low student-to-teacher ratios and a dedicated staff mentor students, helping them to develop both academically and personally. Recently, NCA moved down to 2A.
Athletics
The Northeast Christian Academy Athletic Department embraces the mission of the school and seeks to develop student athletes with Godly character and spiritual strength. Our coaches encourage students to do the best they can with their God-given talents and abilities to bring Glory to God. With a broad offering of sports at both the middle and high school levels, students at NCA have the opportunity to participate in competitive athletics and develop life-skills that will benefit the student throughout their lifetime. Sports are a very important aspect of student life at NCA. Many of the student participate not just in one sport but several. Even the other students that do not belong to a team still show their support by attending games and cheering on their classmates. Even after only being established since 1993, NCA has collected state titles in baseball, basketball, track and swimming. Even though NCA is a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), public schools are also scheduled during the regular season. NCA uses these teams to prepare themselves for playoffs, and to also get their name out there for being competitive not just amongst private schools but with public schools. NCA is surrounded by many large public schools where students tend to get lost in the crowd. Many students and athletes are overlooked at these larger schools. With NCA being right down the road, it gives the students a better chance of being a part of something with more meaning. NCA is also more affordable than the other private schools in the area while still offering competitive academic and athletic programs.
Dress Code
NCA enforces a dress code that requires students to wear uniforms that the school has selected. This dress code is in effect every day of the week. "Dollar Denim Days", and Fridays. Every Friday the students are allowed to wear blue jeans and either an NCA shirt or uniform shirt. "Dollar Denim Days" are days designated by the administration when the students pay a dollar to be able to wear the regular Friday attire on another day. The funds raised from these days go either to the senior class or to another project designated by the administrators. As of the 2008-2009 school year the students are required to wear white or navy blue shoes, a navy, royal or white polo with Northeast Christian Academy embroidered on the left side of the buttons.
Chapel
Every Thursday all students must attend a chapel service in either the school's gym or in the adjacent church. These services consist of the chapel band playing worship songs followed by a guest speaker or other activity. Guest speakers have ranged from school administrators to such important figures such as Ted Poe.
